Sam takes on Glasgow Gailes, part of Glasgow Golf Club, set on the Ayrshire coast. Regular listeners to the pod will know that Peter played here in the Tennant Cup in 2025 — the oldest amateur open stroke play event in the game.

Gailes was designed by Willie Fernie when the club – founded in 1787 – took on land for a second course along the coastline. It is one of the most comfortable walks in the game, and despite very little change in elevation, the subtle contours, small greens, and a routing that takes you in every direction make it a great fun and searching test. The heather adds another layer of excitement throughout.

We adore Gailes for all of these reasons. In this episode, Sam’s target is 77.5.
