Cookie Crumbs #15 – Historical Errors w/ Simon Haines from episode 181
Looking back at one of our favourite episodes, Golf History Fails with Simon Haines (181), and the hilarious discussion on how clubs often celebrate their architects or golfing greats with portraits of entirely different people—proof that once a mistake makes it online, it can quickly become ‘fact.’ For a brilliant feed of historic course imagery, make sure you follow Simon on X: @Hainesy76. Floridian Adventure Pt 4: TPC Sawgrass
The final stop on our Floridian Adventure takes us to the crown jewel of the state’s public golf and the stage for this week’s Players Championship. Built on 415 acres of swamp for just $1, TPC Sawgrass redefined tournament golf. The Tour’s goal was simple—create a ‘Stadium Course’ where fans could get closer to the action. Pete and Alice Dye made it happen, sculpting a layout that blends bold earthworks with razor-sharp strategy. Every shot at Sawgrass is a test. The best angles flirt with danger, while safer routes leave tougher tasks ahead. It’s strategic, punishing, and never short on drama.
