Please note that this event is now an optional Retro Day, with prizes up for grabs for both the overall and the best score with retro clubs. Back by popular demand, our second Retro Day of the year takes us to the brilliant Reigate Heath. This superb 9-hole course, with two sets of tees for variety across 18 holes, promises an afternoon of nostalgic golf. For just £60, enjoy golf followed by a BBQ beneath the iconic windmill, accompanied by beers and some prizes. But if you want to keep your new Titleist sticks and FootJoy clothes in play, then you're more than welcome to do that too. For a taste of what’s in store, check out our last [...]

Afternoon at Sunningdale Heath – 3rd October 2025
Sunningdale Heath may be a par 58, but don’t be fooled – it’s a real long iron test and far from easy despite the yardage. Designed by Harry Colt, this charming course offers a quick round, typically wrapped up in just 2.5 hours, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the best bacon roll in the game and a bit of cornhole afterwards. The event was so much fun last year, we had to do it again. All this for just £50 – a perfect afternoon. For a taste of what’s in store, check out our last year’s event here. Cost: £50
A penny for your thoughts, £30 for a round
In the post-Covid world, where green fees are soaring due to golf's popularity boom and an ever-growing appetite among Americans to turn once-in-a-lifetime UK golf pilgrimages into twice-a-year rituals, the era of reasonably priced rounds at Britain’s best courses is, sadly, often a thing of the past. To help combat this, Half Par Kid has compiled a list of Britain’s 20 best value green fees for the year ahead - 10 under £50 and 10 between £50-£100. From off-the-beaten-track 9-hole gems to Top 100 courses that refuse to follow their competitors into eye-watering territory, there’s plenty to explore. Plan your next trip around some of these beauties—you won’t regret it, and your wallet will thank you.
