The Not Closing Party: Friday 22nd October 2021
After the disaster that was ‘’The Inaugural Cookie Jar Mixer’’ back in June, we thought we’d have another stab at organising a golf day. The Mixer was too hot, and there was too much golf involved, so we’re rallying the troops for a more informal party down at Cleeve Hill on 22nd October to celebrate the end of the golfing season.
Many will know of our fondness for Cleeve Hill. Last year the club was all but doomed but, in January, Nick Hovie and Mashie Golf came to its rescue and since taking over in April they have invested significantly in the clubhouse, the course and its facilities… And given that October is usually ‘closing party’ season in Ibiza, we thought we’d aim for a similar vibe with a ‘not-closing party’ at Cleeve.
There won’t be quite the same touches that you may expect in one of San Antonio’s famous haunts, but there will be plenty of live music, some suitably ‘woke’ food provided throughout the day, and lots of surprises thrown in for good measure – not to mention 18 holes on The Hill!
Like The Mixer, guests are invited to bring a friend (however this is not essential and we will be able to sort pairs for those coming alone). We anticipate that the party will go on well after the golf has concluded. As such, hotel accommodation in Cheltenham is strongly advised for those looking to continue the festivities and a shuttle service will be provided from the golf club back into Cheltenham for those wanting to leave the cars and stay over.
The cost for the event is £100 per person – inclusive of golf, merchandise, food and entertainment.
Festivities will begin late morning, circa 10.30am.
To register for the event, please complete the event form with all of your particulars. If you do not know who your plus one is at this stage, that’s no problem – just make sure you tick to say you’re planning on bringing a guest…
If the event is oversubscribed, attendees of the inaugural Mixer will receive preference, with a ballot system to be held for all others looking to attend their first Cookie Jar event.
You’ll need to move quickly on this one – numbers are capped at a certain point!
We look forward to seeing you in October!
